The premise of this small house, an attached building of a house that stood for 40 years, was to have a special garden. Four inner courts were created in this small land of about 100 pyeong. The internal space was pushed behind to maximize utilization of the area of the front garden, and a garden was inserted after dividing the space into two. The frontal part which is used as a dining room was made transparent so that the garden can be seen from the hind bedroom. As a result, the layers of these five spaces; front garden, dining room, center court, bedroom, and back yard was created inside this small land. The entire land was surrounded with corten steel wall at a height the same as that of the house, which increased the tension in the surrounded space to the extreme. The landscape of Chong Youngsun surpassed imagination. Wild pear trees were planted densely in that small space and the floor was filled with small and rough rocks. When one steps on the granite stone tablet that is spread in a long line from the main building to the garden, one would be absorbed into the primitive nature or a vast forest. The construction is gone and only the landscape remains. That is the result of the construction discarding itself. Moheon(某軒), a ‘House for Anyone’. The beauty of absence.
