The current airport was built in 1928 The project for the extension and modernization of the airport is based on the construction of a new runway of about 1,400 Mt., longer than the current 1080 Mt. which allows its use by larger carriers with a load capacity of 50 passengers with attached commercial facilities. The airport is organized on two levels: one level 0 for departures and the other level +6 for arrivals.
